SOME festive treats for all the family have been lined up at Otley Courthouse.

Sorry! Christmas is Cancelled...Katie Saves the Day! will start proceedings off in suitably seasonal fashion on Saturday, December 12.

The story focuses on the children of the world being shocked by the news that their favourite occasion has been called off at the last minute, due to thieves breaking into Father Christmas' grotto and stealing all the presents.

All seems lost until Katie hitches a ride on a magical bird to the North Pole, determined to help Santa save the day.

An original production from the Topsy Turvy Theatre Company, the show will be performed twice at the Courthouse, at 11am and then at 1.30pm, on Saturday, December 12.

The company specialises in dynamic storytelling, puppetry, original music and interactive scenery, and has enjoyed successful tours of theatres and schools around the country.

Tickets for Sorry! Christmas is Cancelled, which has been written especially for three to seven year olds and their parents, cost £8 or £6 in advance or £9 or £7 on the door.

The December movie matinee at the Courthouse, meanwhile, is the latest big-screen incarnation of Paddington.

The acclaimed PG film about the much-loved, marmalade sandwich scoffing bear - from the classic children's stories of Michael Bond - will be shown at 2pm on Saturday, December 19 and runs for 95 minutes.

Featuring an all-star British case led by Hugh Bonneville, Julie Walters and Ben Wishaw, the movie follows the adventures of a young Peruvian bear who travels to London in search of a home.

Tickets cost £4 or £2.
