CHARLIE Dore, the multi-award-winning singer-songwriter returns to Otley Courthouse this month with her new album Milk Roulette.

The show, on June 13, will feature multi-instrumentalist Julian Littman, former member of Steeleye Span. It promises a night of eclectic, contemporary folk as the duo swap guitars, piano, mandolin, harmonium, autoharp and ukulele.

Although best known for her song Pilot of the Airwaves - a worldwide hit still played most days on radio stations around the world, and regularly on Radio 2 - Charlie’s more recent albums explore her acoustic folk-roots background and her new album Milk Roulette, which has won four star reviews across the board proves again that this is where her heart truly lies. The all-female community choir Otley Singers will open the evening with their beautiful harmonies and wonderful variety of folk, soul, pop and world music. Another member of Steeleye Span, legendary fiddle player Peter Knight bring his new group Gigspanner to Otley Courthouse on Friday, June 19 at 8pm. He is joined by Roger Fleck on Guitar and Vincent Salzfaas on percussion. It has been a long time in the works, but Gigspanner’s riveting new album Layers of Ages comes sees the band blowing the dust from a collection of well-worn traditional music and songs. Modern in interpretation yet classical in its virtuosity, it is music that continues to inspire.Tickets £12/£10 in advance, or £13/£11 on the door.

Steeleye Span were formed in 1969 with the aim of playing folk music in a contemporary, electric band format . Their hit singles have included Gaudete and All Around My Hat. They had three Top 40 albums - they achieved a certified gold record with sales of All Around My Hat.

Otley courthouse is described as a unique arts and resource centre, created and run by volunteers and staff.
