AIREBOROUGH Gilbert and Sullivan Society announced their forthcoming show, The Sorcerer, at a fundraising coffee morning.
The event included an array of buns, cakes and jams, which were sold in aid of the British Heart Foundation – the society’s chosen charity for the 2015 show. The coffee morning raised around £235.
In February’s show, the sorcerer in question supplies a potion at a village engagement banquet, which induces sleep.
On waking each villager falls in love with the first person of the opposite sex they meet.
Somewhat reminiscent of A Midsummer Night’s Dream, the plot becomes chaotic and comical before the confusion is put right.
Aireborough Gilbert and Sullivan Society will present The Sorcerer at Yeadon Town Hall from February 10 to 14. Performances start at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm.
