A special show is being hosted in Addingham Moorside by event organiser Frances Powell and the acclaimed touring musician and storyteller, Ash Mandrake.

Ash is launching his new album – Pumpkins, Hermits and Kings – at Fell Edge, Addingham Moorside, on Saturday, November 16.

The evening will offer the audience delightful performances, an exhibition of his costumes and hand-made hats and a display of stunning photographs by Krystyna Fitzgerald-Morris from her recent work with Ash. Ash will also introduce his new instrument, the double-necked ukulele.

For those who do not know Ash Mandrake, he astonishes and thrills his audiences with his unique theatrical style, fantastical songs, stories and whacky humour.

For every piece, he switches hats and costumes, depicting rich and colourful medieval-type characters, from giants to kings and hermits to jesters.

Ash’s singing voice is renowned for its extraordinary range and beautiful control. His musical skills are becoming legendary across the UK, using his double necked 16-string leather-bound electric guitar, voice and a looped-recording machine to build up unbelievable and phenomenal sounds. Ash has now added the double-necked ukulele to his kit, made with piccolo and baritone ukuleles.

Ash sings mostly his own rich and exquisite songs, but also performs interpretations of covers from musical legends such as Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens) Pink Floyd and Don Maclean.

The Ash Mandrake Fell Edge gig, now an annual event, offers an opportunity for Ash to showcase his most recent projects to an already strong fan-base in Yorkshire, with an invitation to come along for an entertaining evening at Fell Edge Barn, a cosy renovated barn used also for dances, t’ai chi, theatrical workshops and mini festivals.

Frances invites you to bring your own drinks and food to share.

The Ash Mandrake 2013 Fell Edge Show runs from 8pm to 11pm with intervals. The venue is at Fell Edge Barn, Straight Lane, Addingham Moorside, LS29 9JX. Tickets cost £10 for adults and include a copy of the new album, £5 for under-16s and free for children under 12.
