IT'S all change for Ilkley Upstagers’ pantomime Dick Whittington this year as two new faces take on leading roles. Laura Benazaize and Lucy Hutton will be appearing in Dick Whittington at Ilkley King’s Hall from January 22-30.
Lucy, 24, who teaches dance and PE at St Joseph’s School, Halifax, stars as Dick Whittington.
She said: “I have been part of Upstagers for three years, however this is my first year as principal boy.
“It’s very exciting playing this important role and also a lot of fun working with such a wonderful team.”
Laura, 18, who takes on the role of Alice, principal girl, is looking forward to the challenge after previously appearing as a senior dancer in other Upstagers’ pantos.
“This is my second featured role with the Upstagers the other being Gabriella in High School Musical,” said Laura.
Laura is currently taking a gap year from her studies and hopes to pursue a career in musical theatre.
Tickets for the pantomime are available now by telephoning 01943 607944 or in person at The Upstagers’ Barn at the rear of the Midland Hotel in Ilkley from 11am to 1pm daily from Saturday. January 16.

The pantomime runs from Friday, February 12, until Saturday, February 20. To book tickets contact Jane Gregory on 01943 831007.
