SUMMER has officially come early to Ilkley Cinema, for we have gorgeous beaches and equally beautiful people protecting our lives at sea from June 22nd - 29th. A good 15 years since the classic TV series ended, Baywatch has been reignited with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron at the helm of this hilarious comedy. When Matt (Efron), a former Olympic swimmer joins the Baywatch team, he annoys veteran lifeguard Mitch (Johnson) with his cocky attitude. But when drugs and a shady resort owner pose a threat to the bay, Mitch and Matt must put their differences aside to spring into action and save the day.

From one idyllic beach to a very different, merciless area of sand, we have fantasy adventure The Mummy. Buried in a crypt in the unforgiving desert, the world would have thought it was safe from the powers of ancient Egyptian princess Ahmanet. It turns out, we were wrong. When soldier of fortune Nick Morton (Tom Cruise) unwittingly unleashes the betrayed princess Ahmanet while under attack in the Middle East, it is up to him to stop the malevolent monster as she embarks upon a rampage through the streets of London.

And for something a little different, we have dark, brilliantly acted drama The Levelling. After the 2014 Somerset floods, Clover Catto receives a call telling her that her younger brother Harry is dead and must return to her family farm and face the man she hasn't spoken to in years: her father Aubrey. Twisted in grief and shock, Aubrey is a tormented shadow of his former self, but Clover forges a new understanding with her father and rekindles the relationship as they face the troubles on the ravaged farm together.

Finally, we have a duo of films to keep the kids entertained this weekend: The Red Turtle and Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul.
