THE charming, feel-good Indian film The Crow's Egg is the final screening in Ilkley Film Society's current season on Sunday, June 11 (8pm, Ilkley Playhouse).

When a pizza restaurant opens near their neighbourhood two young brothers set their hearts on tasting such exotic food – but they are penniless slum kids whose father is in gaol, and who support their family by stealing lumps of coal from the railway yard. How can they make their dream come true?

This Tamil-language film was a big hit at the 2015 Leeds International Film Festival, but never released in the UK. The film society has imported a copy from India to provide what may be a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see The Crow's Egg on a big screen.
