THE BLUES Band are returning to the City Varieties Music Hall in Leeds on February 3.

The Blues Band is led by Paul Jones, former vocalist with Manfred Mann and presenter of Radio 2’s Rhythm & Blues programme.

Every individual member was already held in admiration by generations of rhythm & blues fans when the band formed back in 1979.

Almost two and a half decades and over 16 albums later, they continue to add to their growing army of followers and it’s not unheard of to find three generations from the same family at a gig.

The Blues Band are today acknowledged throughout Europe and beyond as being amongst the very finest purveyors of rhythm & blues.

Also returning to the City Varieties, on March 14, is double Grammy Award winning singer and guitarist Albert Lee.

Albert has played with a host of music greats including Glen Campbell, Dolly Parton, Joan Armatrading, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, Linda Ronstadt and Rodney Crowell.

He has been a member of Chris Farlowe’s Thunderbirds, Country Fever, Head Hands and Feet, Eric Clapton’s Band, Emmylou Harris’s Hotband and Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings.

Albert received the Lifetime Achievement Award from the British Country Music Association and the coveted Gold Badge Award from the British Academy of Songwriters, Composers and Authors.
