BRADFORD Festival Choral Society and City of Bradford Brass Band will be performing together in a Christmas concert on Saturday (December 17) at 6pm

Because St George's Hall is being refurbished the traditional Christmas celebration has been moved to Bradford Grammar School and this year the choral society is excited to be playing with City of Bradford Brass Band for the first time.

There will be a blend of familiar carols, like Once in Royal David’s City and Ding Dong! Merrily on High, some newer seasonal music, a taster of Handel, including the Hallelulah Chorus and plenty of opportunity to join in with the singing. Plus the choir’s conductor Tom Leech usually has some musical surprises up his sleeve. There will be home cooked seasonal refreshments available before and throughout the concert to help everyone get in the mood.

Maggie Eisner the choir’s chairperson said: “We are performing at 6pm so that busy shoppers can have relaxing break when they have finished, children, who can come for free, can have a special outing without being too late and there will be still time for a night out for those who remain full of energy.”

The choir is fresh from an unusual concert of modern music which drew a large audience and received a positive review in our sister paper T&A: “A thrilling show is just out of this world”.

Tickets in advance from the choir’s website www.bradfordfestivalchoralsociety.org.uk or purchased at the door. Prices are £16 (full), £14 (concessions). There is a group rate of 5 for £55 and under 18s are free.
