THERE will be some spooky goings-on at Otley Courthouse during the October half-term.

The arts venue is holding some Hallowe'en themed events as part of its lineup of family-friendly attractions during the school break.

First up, though, on Monday, October 24 will be Molly's Marvellous Moustache - an adaptation by Fidget Theatre of the classic storybook by Andrea Heaton.

The show follows the adventures of Molly who, thanks to a magic moustache crafted by her mum, can go anywhere and do anything - including setting off on space and jungle explorations.

Suitable for children aged three and over, the production features an original musical score and playful interaction with the audience.

Tickets cost £6 for children and £8 for adults.

Lantern-making fun for anyone aged seven and above will be the main attraction on Tuesday, October 25 when Handmade Parade will lead two craft workshops.

The event is an opportunity for individuals and families to get creative and produce lanterns that will be paraded at this year's Otley Victorian Fayre.

The workshops run from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4pm. Tickets cost £5 for one workshop or £9 (which includes a packed lunch) for both.

The scary fun at the Courthouse begins on Thursday, October 27 when resident storyteller Vicky Orton will be bringing some spine-tingling tales, suitable for children aged six and older, to life between 10am and noon.

Tickets cost £4.

The Hallowe'en theme will continue at 10am on Friday, October 28 with a screening of the hit animated film Transylvania 2.

The movie's story focuses on Dracula’s half human son, Drac, and what happens when he stops showing his vampire side.

The film will be followed by a crafts workshop, running until 12.45pm, at which they can make their own spooky bits of costume in time for 'trick or treating'.

Tickets for the film cost £4 for adults and £2 for children, while tickets for the film and workshop cost £5 per child.
