THIS is the week you’ve all been waiting for: Ilkley Cinema are very pleased to announce that Bridget Jones’s Baby is finally here. From September 29th – October 6th begins our first week stretch of the latest instalment of Bridget’s hilarious antics. Don’t worry, we have screenings aplenty for this hotly anticipated film, so we’re sure you’ll be able to find one to suit all you Bridget lovers out there.

A solid twelve years after Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason was released, and almost three since latest novel Mad About the Boy hit our shelves, we were left wondering if Renée Zellweger would ever don the giant knickers and make us laugh all over again. The simple answer was obviously going to be a yes!

This time round, the 40-something Bridget finds herself sadly single once again after splitting from ex-Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). But, positive as ever, our lovable singleton focuses on her fabulous job as a TV producer and finally feels as if her life is coming together. Of course, this would be far too easy, and her love life proves it is far from over when she meets handsome American Jack (Patrick Dempsey).

Things become slightly more complicated when Bridget finds out she is pregnant, and more awkwardly, she has no idea if the father is Mark or Jack. In typical bus fashion in Britain, you wait ages for one and then two show up at once! With the script kept very much under wraps, even the actors didn’t know who the baby daddy was until the day of filming, so come on down before the spoilers attack! Most importantly, will Bridget finally get her happy-ever-after, let’s hope so!

For Kid’s Club this Saturday morning, we have the exquisitely hand-drawn animation from Studio Ghibli The Tale of Princess Kaguya. A miracle girl found in a bamboo stalk by a bamboo cutter grows at an astronomical rate and is so believed to be of divine descent. Raised as a princess, she finds it hard to cope with pressures of nobility, and wishes to be back in the mountains, where life was simpler.
