LESLEY Garrett is one of the stars due to appear at Leeds City Varieties in coming months.

An Audience With Lesley Garrett features the popular soprano singer in the city centre venue on September 29.

Tom Chaplin, former lead singer with the band Keane, will perform his intimate solo show at the City Varieties on October 26.

The shows are Tom’s first in almost four years and he has assembled musicians who are multi-instrumentalists able to switch what they play as the richly-layered songs demand.

Jimeoin presents his latest show Renonsense Man on February 15, promising brilliantly observed, hilarious stand-up.

The comedian is a veteran of TV shows including Live at the Apollo, Royal Variety Performance, John Bishop Show, Channel 4’s O2 Gala and Sunday Night at the Palladium.

Tom Paxton, who has had a music career spanning more than 50 years, will be at the Leeds venue on January 17.

Leeds audience can expect classics such as The Last Thing On My Mind, Bottle Of Wine and Ramblin' Boy.

Sam Sweeney’s Fiddle will be performed on June 10 next year, when the fiddle player with folk big band Bellowhead presents a unique story.

Seven years ago Sam bought a violin in Oxford, and found a label with the date 1915, the name Richard S Howard and the words ’Violin No. 6 Made in the Great War’.

Sam decided to retell Richard Howard’s story, bringing the First World War to life through the eyes of an ordinary man, his family and his comrades using story, music and film.
