CHART band Embrace, whose drummer taught young Keighley musicians, have announced their third Secret Festival.

Mike Heaton and his fellow Yorkshire musicians will perform this year’s annual festival at Lotherton Hall near Leeds on September 3.

Several years ago Mike was part of a project for young musicians at the Jam on Top music studio, in Dalton Lane, Keighley.

Embrace held their first Secret Festival at Knebworth House in Hertfordshire in 2014 and the event went on to win Best New Festival at that year’s UK Festival Awards.

Last year the band moved the festival to Lotherton Hall for another successful event which received two nominations, Best Small Festival and Grass Roots Award.

Embrace front man Danny McNamara said: “There was such a great family atmosphere about the festival last summer that we had to keep it there; it feels like we’ve found our home, for now at least."

The Secret Festival will feature Embrace alongside surprise guests whose identity will not be revealed until the day of the event.

Previous guests have included The Magic Numbers, Starsailor, Gomez, Grant Nicholas from Feeder, Dave McCabe from The Zutons and Leeds band Cud.

Danny said: “Each year the expectations get bigger and the pressure is on us to deliver but I reckon we’ve got it covered; we’ve got some very exciting surprises up our sleeve.”

To coincide with the Secret Festival, Embrace will release their first new music since 2014, this time a three-track EP with Love Is A Basic Need, Bash The Rat and The White Alien.
