A LEEDS-based dance theatre is organising a major revival of one its earliest works.
As part of its 35th anniversary celebration Phoenix Dance Theatre will stage Nightlife at the Flamingo over three nights at the Stanley & Audrey Burton Theatre this autumn.
The show premiered in Leeds in 1983, under the company’s first artistic director David Hamilton.
Originally set in an American night club, the piece integrated popular culture and modern dance performed by five dancers with scenes depicting 1940s dance hall alongside typical 1980s club dance.
For this revived anniversary performance the piece will be updated and will feature up to 35 dancers.
Performances will run from September 28 to October 1. Call 0113 2208008 for tickets.
