The orchestra will perform Beethoven’s Overture to Leonore No 3, Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, Arabic songs from Egypt and Lebanon and British contemporary composer Fitkin’s Metal. Since forming in 2004 the Palestine Youth Orchestra has toured in Germany, Greece, Italy, France and throughout the Middle East.

The National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain: Under 13 Orchestra will perform a programme including Strauss’ Overture to Die Fledermaus, A Symphonic Picture from Gershwin’s Porgy and Bess and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol. The concert will also feature Borodin’s In the Steppes of Central Asia, Allegro Molto from Rachmaninov’s Symphony No 2 and Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre, a piece also known as the theme tune to the BAFTA winning mystery drama series Jonathan Creek. Established in 1978, the National Children’s Orchestras of Great Britain has gone from strength to strength, building up an international reputation as an outstanding orchestra.

The final orchestra to perform at Leeds Town Hall this summer is the Yorkshire Young Sinfonia. The orchestra will also perform Saint-Saëns’ Samson et Dalila: Bacchanale, Arnold’s A Flourish for Orchestra, Sibelius’ Andante Festivo, Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet and a piece composed by the Yorkshire Young Sinfonia’s composition competition winner.
