FANS of fast-flowing fiddle music are in for a treat at Otley Courthouse next weekend.

The award-winning Blazin' Fiddles, who have a string of acclaimed albums to their name, will be performing from 8pm on Saturday, June 25.

The band's members include some of the finest contemporary fiddle players from the Scottish Highlands and Islands, whose playing is supported by piano and guitar arrangements.

Tickets for their Otley show cost £15 or £13 in advance or £16 or £14 on the door.

Next month, the Courthouse will host a two day silver clay jewellery course on Saturday, July 2 and Sunday, July 3.

Running from 10.30am to 3.30pm on both days, the course will teach participants all about the specialist tools and materials used along with the basic techniques of working and creating jewellery using silver clay.

The topics covered will include Working with Silver Clay, Basics of Jewellery Design, Forming and Texturing, Pre-finishing Techniques, and Firing and Finishing.

Participants will be able to create their own designs or work from a design project.

All tools, materials and silver clay needed are included in the £95 price.

Famous anti-war movie All Quiet on the Western Front, meanwhile, will be shown at the Courthouse at 7.30pm on Saturday, July 2 as part of the 2016 Otley Walking Festival.

This year's festival includes a commemorative walk from Masham in memory of the Leeds Pals and the horrific losses they suffered during the Battle of the Somme 100 years ago.

The screening of the classic 1930 film has been organised to tie in with that.

Admission costs £4.

Then on Thursday, July 7, matinee fans will get another chance to see Suffragette - an inspirational story about the women who first fought for the vote and their sacrifices.

Starting at 2pm, the film - which sold out when shown at the venue earlier this year - stars Carey Mulligan, Anne-Marie Duff and Helena Bonham Carter and tickets cost £4, which includes tea or coffee and biscuits that are provided beforehand, from 1.30pm.

Live music from local band Ten Fields will also feature in July.

The group, whose original alt-country style music has been likened to REM and Neil Finn, will take the stage at 8pm on Friday, July 15.

Tickets for their Otley date cost £5 in advance or £6 on the night.
