FANS of Neil Young are in for to treat when he performs in Leeds with his collaborators Promise Of The Real.

The man and the band can be seen on their Rebel Content tour at the First Direct Arena tomorrow.

Earlier this year Young joined forces with Promise Of The Real to create one of his most vitriolic albums with the ecologically/environmentally-focused The Monsanto Years.

Now the line-up are making their UK and Ireland debut.

The Guardian said the collaboration boasted “all the big riffs, crashing major chords and harmonies” that had characterised Young’s best records for five decades.

NME magazine said the album showed “the sound of a legend raging in style”.

Neil Young and Promise Of The Real’s North American dates saw the band dust off some of the rarely-heard classics from Neil’s huge back catalogue .

These were mixed with fiery takes on material from The Monsanto Years as well as select solo performances and other old favourites.

The LA Times concluded that the show “put forth nearly three hours of blazing musical and sociopolitical fire”.

Promise Of The Real are a Los Angeles-based rock band fronted by Lukas Nelson and featuring musicians Micah Nelson, Logerfo, Corey McCormick and Tato Melgar.

They have also previously performed with Lukas and Micah’s father Willie Nelson.
