ACCLAIMED theatre company BrassNeck is bringing a real treat to audiences at Yeadon Town Hall this month with the West End comedy The 39 Steps.

Hot on the heels of BrassNeck's last hit, The Addams Family, The 39 Steps is a funny take on the Alfred Hitchcock film of the same name. The whole piece is hilariously recreated for the stage in this smash hit Olivier Award winning comedy.

The show follows the incredible adventures of handsome hero Richard Hannay, complete with stiff-upper-lip, a British gung-ho never say die attitude and pencil moustache, as he encounters dastardly murders, double crossing secret agents and, of course, beautiful women.

This wonderfully inventive and gripping comedy thriller features just four fearless actors, playing 139 roles between them in 100 minutes of fast-paced fun and thrilling action.

The 39 Steps premiered at the West Yorkshire Playhouse in 2005 and subsequently transferred to London the next year where it played for ten years at the Criterion Theatre in Piccadilly Circus. It has also played in numerous countries around the world, including a successful award winning run on Broadway in New York.

BrassNeck have assembled a stellar cast of local talent to take on this adaptation of the Hitchcock classic. Bruce Sturrock and Tom Kyle take on the much coveted roles of the Clowns, Emily Taylor plays the female roles and, returning after his stint as lurch in The Addams Family, Jason Evens plays the lead role of Richard Hannay.

The 39 Steps runs at Yeadon Town Hall from May 17-21, with performances at 7.30pm Tuesday to Friday evenings and a 6pm performance on Saturday, May 21.

Tickets in the stalls are cabaret style and audiences are encouraged to enjoy a drink whilst taking in the play. Balcony tickets are also available.

Tickets can be booked online at www.brassnecktheatre.com or by calling the box office on 0113 2505011.
