In BrassNeck Theatre’s next production in May a dysfunctional cast of adults will take on the roles of even quirkier adolescents.

Each contestant in one of America’s favourite pastimes, a spelling bee, is determined to spell their way to the trophy at the The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

“Watching Spelling Bee will put a smile on everyone’s faces,” said Richard Lloyd, chairman, who competes for the cup against wife Lisa.

Spelling Bee was nominated for six Tony awards, winning two of them and this small cast is loving every moment of their rehearsals for a musical where improvisation will bring a slightly different performance each night.

Audiences in the stalls will be seated at tables, cabaret-style where they can enjoy a drink as they watch this production. Balcony seats are also available.

Spelling Bee is at Yeadon Town Hall, May12-16 at 7.30pm. Tickets from 0113 2505011 or at brassnecktheatre.com.
