A CIRCUS skills workshop and a magical puppet show will be among the attractions on offer at Otley Courthouse over Easter.

The fun begins on Tuesday, April 7, with Wizards, Eggs and Mythical Things – a chance for children to make their own Harry Potter-style golden egg with a pop-up dragon inside.

Children aged five and over will also be able to try their hand at creating wizard spells and potions at the event, which runs from 10am to noon and costs £4 per person.

Pete White and his Suitcase Circus will roll into town on Wednesday, April 8, when he will be teaching everything from juggling and plate-spinning to stilt-walking on buckets.

The workshop runs from 1pm to 4pm, is suitable for six year olds and over, and costs £7 per person, including refreshments.

How To Train Your Dragon 2 will provide the movie fun on Thursday, April 9, when the 10.30am screening will be followed by a 12.15pm to 1.15pm dragon-making craft workshop for those aged seven and over.

Tickets for the PG rated film on its own cost £4 for adults and £2 for children, while the combined movie and workshop experience costs £5 per child.

A magical retelling of the life of King Arthur will round-off the family-focused activities at the Courthouse on Friday, April 10.

Image Musical Theatre will present The Sword in the Stone, which features dazzling sets and puppetry, at 2pm. Suitable for five year olds and over, the show costs £8 for adults, £6 for children.

The Courthouse Easter Egg Hunt, meanwhile, will run from Tuesday, April 7 right through to Friday, April 17 and is open to all, priced £1.

The competition challenges participants to answer questions and solve a puzzle to claim a chocolate egg.
