CRITICALLY acclaimed Scottish group Blueflint will be showcasing their new album at Otley Courthouse this weekend.
Stories for Home, produced by Paul Savage — of King Creosote, From Scotland with Love, and Mogwai fame — sees the band moving in an Alt-folk direction.
The songs focus on relationships, parenthood and life in a hometown.
Vocalists Deborah Arnott and Clare Neilson are backed on the album by Danny Hart (on guitar, mandolin, and fiddle); James Lindsay (double bass); Davey MacAulay (guitar, piano, xylophone); Ali Murray (drums/percussion); and Paul Savage (harmonium, piano). The band, who played sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, take the stage at 8pm on Sunday, March 29.
Tickets cost £8 in advance or £10 on the door.
More Scottish musicians will be performing at the venue in April, when four of the country’s finest fiddle players — sisters Bethany Reid and Jenna Reid, BBC Young Folk Award Winner Lauren MacColl, and Oslo-based Sarah-Jane Summers — join forces as RANT.
Their 8pm show, which draws on the musical traditions of the Shetlands, Scotland and Scandinavia, will take place on Monday, April 6.
Tickets cost £11 in advance or £12.50 on the night.
