A PROFESSIONAL theatre company has announced a series of shows for Yeadon.

Futurist Theatre Productions will launch its 2015 season at Yeadon Town Hall with An Evening of Dirty Dancing on March 28.

Otley businessman Jamie Hudson, who runs Futurist, said: “There are always great shows on at Bradford Alhambra and Leeds Grand, but sometimes these shows are inaccessible for families with expensive parking and ticket pricing. We’ve selected a diverse selection of shows for Yeadon – there really is something for everyone.

“The first couple of shows, An Evening of Dirty Dancing (March 28) and Big Girls Don’t Cry (April 11), are both professional UK tours that are touring the UK, but stopping at Yeadon, then our youth production company is presenting the amazing Starlight Express which features a cast of 16 to 22-year-olds, entirely on skates.

“In November, our youth production company presents Les Miserables – one of the greatest musicals ever written.”

Jamie has also secured the Rhythm of Life tour.

“It’s a dance sensation,” he said. “I first saw the show a couple of years back and knew then I wanted to bring it to Yeadon,” he said.

With more than 30 well-known songs from the musicals, the show features a professional cast of singers and dancers, featuring music from shows such as Wicked, A Chorus Line, Cats, Anything Goes, Footloose and Chicago.

Rhythm of Life will run from September 2 to September 5.
