AN EARLY member of heavy metal legends Iron Maiden and former member of chart-topping 80s band Cutting Crew will perform in Guiseley this month in his latest musical venture.

Keyboardist, singer-songwriter and music promoter, Tony Moore, will play at Guiseley Cricket and Football Club on March 26 with his latest protegee Ilona.

Moore, who has helped launch talented stars such as Ed Sheeran and Paulo Nutini from his London venue The Bedford, spends his time these days helping along talents such as Leeds band The Dunwells and Ilona.

He is also due to release his own single this week, Rockstars Don’t Retire.

Moore plays in Ilona’s backing band on keyboards and guitar.

All three provide a very tight band with some excellent vocals.

They are to tour the USA in the summer following the release of Ilona’s latest single. Moore himself has also been back in the recording studio and has a solo single out.

They will be supported at the gig by rising young local vocal star Ellie Holmes, and members of the recently formed local band Venice fronted by Rawdon vocalist Jamie Kelly.

A number of local musicians have been helped along by having gigs at Moore’s London venue The Bedford, artistes such as The Dunwells, City of Lights, Andy Doonan, Issimo and Sam Crane and a number of them will be in the Guiseley audience to welcome Moore to Yorkshire Ellie Holmes is already known to Moore as he was one of the judges when the 16-year-old reached the national finals of Rock The House last year.

The event starts at 7.45pm and tickets are £5, to include supper, and are available from 07507125141.
