BRASSNeck Theatre was delighted to present the Otley branch of Macmillan Cancer Care with a cheque for £1,500 at their AGM in December.

Macmillan representative, Roz Hutchinson said the donation was wonderful and had ‘taken her breath away’.

Chairman Richard Lloyd told members: "BrassNeck Theatre relies on everyone working hard to bring an excellent theatre experience to its audiences but having fun along the way is also important."

Being able to support a different charity each year gives BrassNeck the opportunity to help causes nominated by members. Within the past week, BrassNeck Ladies, along with a few of their children, were also thrilled to learn that they are amongst the top five per cent of fundraisers in the 2014 Race for Life.

This year, 2015, is the fifth anniversary of BrassNeck Theatre and with it comes two very exciting productions. Over 40 people attended recent auditions for ‘The Addams Family’ to be performed at Yeadon Town Hall in November and rehearsals are well under way for May’s production of ‘The 25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee’, a hilarious Tony award winning comedy which has delighted packed audiences in London’s West End.

'Spelling Bee’ has a small cast of adults playing the roles of slightly dysfunctional adolescents who compete in the ever popular American pastime of a Spelling Bee!

Booking has already started and although seats in the balcony are available, audiences may choose to sit at a table in the hall where they can relax with friends and enjoy a drink as they watch the performance.

2015 also brings the return of the ever popular ‘Strictly’ which this year will be on March 21 at Yeadon Town Hall.

BrassNeck Theatre wishes everyone a happy and peaceful 2015 and looks forward to seeing you all at ‘Spelling Bee’, ‘The Addams Family’ and ‘Strictly’.
