Described as a "Zombie Apocalypse Romantic Comedy Epic Poem", Jack Dean's new stage show Threnody for the Sky Children arrives at the Carriageworks Theatre in Leeds in September.

Written and performed by Dean, feted by the Guardian who said "artists like rap storyteller Jack Dean make us excited about what they’ll do next”, Threnody takes place "in a town in the middle of nowhere" where, in the attic of his parents' house, a man convinced he was born with wings flees from the chaos outside and picks through his confused past.

Billed as "a darkly comic mythological thriller that draws inspiration from Ovid's epic poem Metamorphosis to tell a tale of love, loss, and shattered childhood dreams against the backdrop of a highly unusual apocalypse", Threnody for the Sky Children promises to be something a little different and hopefully rather special.

It is on at the Carriageworks on Thursday September 18 at 7.45pm. Tickets are £10.50 (£8.50 concessions) and it's recommended for ages 14 up. Tickets can be booked on 0113 224 3801 or online at www.carriageworkstheatre.org.uk
