Coronation Street star Katy Cavanagh stars in a short film following a train journey from Bradford to London.

Bradford-Halifax-London, screened on Sunday as part of Bradford Film Festival, was directed by Francis Lee, who grew up on a sheep farm near Keighley.

The film is one of the entries in the festival’s Shine Film Award.

Francis was a successful actor before recently breaking into directing. This is his second short film and he is currently developing his first feature, God’s Own Country.

Bradford-Halifax-London was shot in one continuous take on a train from Bradford to London and stars Katy Cavanagh, alias Julie Carp in Coronation Street, and Kirsty Armstrong from E4’s My Mad Fat Diary.

Francis wrote his first short film, Bantam, in 2009 and The Farmer’s Wife was his directorial debut in 2011.
