Award-winning film Caesar Must Die will be shown at Otley Courthouse next week.
Otley Film Society will present the movie, which was made in Rome’s Rebibbia Prison, at 7.45pm, on Thursday, March 13.
A drama within a drama, it shows the real-criminal cast of Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar coming to terms with their roles and the play’s themes of fraternity, power and betrayal.
The prisoners, while enjoying the escapism of acting, also come to see how those themes link in with their own lives in jail.
Tickets for the film, which won the Golden Bear prize at the Berlin Film Festival, cost £4.
