The acclaimed cinematic adaptation of Booker Prize winning novel Life of Pi will be shown in Otley next week.
Otley Film Society will present the Ang Lee directed movie at Otley Courthouse at 7.45pm tonight, Thursday.
Publicity officer Bob Brook said: "This is one that many people will have been waiting to see this season – or maybe even see again.
"Yann Martell’s Booker novel is transferred gloriously to the screen by master director Ang Lee. The film is a true visual delight, with scenes you will never forget, and it really does deserve to be seen on a big screen. It is about Piscine, or ‘Pi’, Patel’s epic ocean journey and the dangers he has to face, a Bengal tiger called Richard Parker, and the nature of reality and religion.
"All are all brought to life in a way which will not only satisfy those who have read the book, but also captivate those who haven't."
The Courthouse bar will be open, and guest tickets – available from the venue or by calling (01943) 884070 – cost £4.
