OTLEY’S launch for this year’s Comic Relief campaign took place last week, with some help from a legendary comedian.
Oliver Hardy from timeless duo Laurel and Hardy, actually fundraising champion Linda Guy in fancy dress, made a special appearance at the town’s Sainsbury’s store on February 13.
Linda was joined by Year 6 pupils from Otley All Saints C of E Primary School and other members of staff, all donning red noses, to mark the month-long countdown to Red Nose Day.
This year the event, supported by all kinds of zany fundraising in the run-up, will be held on March 13 and is themed around making a funny face.
Year 6 teaching assistant at Otley All Saints, Linda Kelly, said: “We are all going to come in to school on March 13 with a funny face, using face paints and other materials.”
