THIS WONDERFULLY atmospheric photograph from Manor Mill in Yeadon dates back to 1900 or possibly even before.

The picture, from the archives of Aireborough Historical Society, shows a man hand warping, threading the lengthwise thread under tension onto the loom ready for weaving. The photograph was taken by E E Slater

Society archivist Carlo Harrison said: "There will be lots of ladies who remember working at the various mills, Peates, Moons etc who started working life as a Warper, but this photo predates the machinery they will have used which in itself is old fashioned now."
