THE BAND was conducted by Richard Whiteley against a backdrop of Ilkley Moor and the Cow and Calf rocks when this photograph was taken 20 years ago.
The TV presenter and journalist, was known to millions as the presenter of Countdown - and became a familiar face to audiences around the world after being bitten by a ferret in a notorious clip from Calendar. Mr Whiteley, who lived locally, died in 2005.
The second photograph shows the ladies of Ashfield Place with children who enjoyed a trip to Blackpool in compensation for their coronation party which was ruined by bad weather.
