THESE RADIO sets were probably the latest thing when they were presented to veterans more than half a century ago.

The former servicemen from Aireborough looked pleased to receive the equipment when they posed for this photograph in 1964.

In contrast this old banger was quite clearly not the latest equipment when it was proudly displayed by Ilkley Upstagers in the 1990s. Presumably a prop for one of their performances, it looks like it was being loaded onto a vehicle ready for transportation when the photograph was taken.
