It may be traditional to give an apple to the teacher but at one Horsforth school it’s the children who are getting the goodies.

Youngsters at the Froebelian are enjoying getting to grips with Apple iPads which the school has just invested in for them to use in a variety of lessons.

Headteacher John Tranmer said: “Using the iPads allows the children to connect with their lessons and content in a more intimate, intuitive and fun way than ever before.

“iPads inspire creativity and hands-on learning with features not found in any other education tool – we are finding that the children really want to use them.”

The new equipment is being used by pupils throughout the school – from children in the nursery class who use it for number and letter recognition, to children in Year 6 who use it to film and edit their own historical plays.
