Striking works by young Otley artists have gone on display at two venues in the town.

Otley Courthouse is hosting an exhibition of paintings by sixth form art students at Prince Henry’s Grammar School, all based around the theme of the human body, throughout March.

Other works by students are also on display at David R Bamford Chartered Architects, in Manor Square, for the rest of the month after both buildings held preview evenings last week.

Head of art at Prince Henry’s, Shane Green, said he had been delighted at the creativity shown by his charges.

He said: "They only had a month to do the work and I think they responded really well to the pressure.

"This is also the first time we’ve had a theme for one of our exhibitions, and they’ve taken it away and come up with all kinds of interesting things."

Among the many eye-catching paintings on display is The Fallen, by sixth former Joe Clulow, and fellow student Jade Firth’s untitled depiction of two mysterious figures, bathed in light.
