People parking dangerously or inconsiderately outside a primary school were brought to book when pupils turned ‘mini-cops’ for the day.

Children from Newlaithes Primary School, in Horsforth, donned police uniforms and got their clipboards at the ready to target the problem outside the school in Victoria Crescent.

PCSOs Stefan Rushworth and Julie Richardson, from the North West Outer Neighbourhood Policing Team, organised the initiative as part of ongoing work with the school to educate youngsters about road safety and warn parents about the dangers of poor parking at drop-off and pick-up times.
