Students learn all about folk music at workshop

A FOLK singer passed on his musical knowledge to students at Ashfield Primary School in Otley.

John Bodman gave a workshop teaching Year 5 and 6 children the basics on how to play a wide range of instruments including accordians, harmonicas, mandolins, recor-ders and xylophones.

Support assistant Jan Whitehead said he sang songs and some of the children then had a go' at playing the instruments in the one and a half hour session.

Mr Bodman holds sessions on folk singing for children on Sundays at Otley Courthouse.
