PARENTS at an Otley primary school are now enjoying the benefits of having an after-school club on site.
WOOSH (Westgate Out Of School Hours) has been set up as part of the Government's Extended Schools Agenda and means pupils aged from five to 11 can be dropped off at 8am and collected up until 6pm.
Children using the club have access to many of the school's facilities including the hall - for craft activities and games -, ICT suite, library and playground.
Jayne Chilton, who has two children at the school, is club leader and, along with assistants Christine Saunders and Claire Collin, aims to ensure a range of well-planned activities are laid on to suit all the children.
Westgate head teacher Rhona Bignell said: "The school is working towards the Healthy Schools Standard so after school the children have a healthy snack.
"The club is OFSTED-registered which means working parents can use their workplace childcare vouchers as a contribution to wards the cost, and needless to say they are pleased about this.
"The club is proving a popular addition to the facilities at Westgate."
