Grandparents took a step back in time when they returned to school last week.
They were invited to Ghyll Royds School, Burley-in-Wharfedale, as part of a thank you' for their support.
Some travelled from as far away as Scotland to take part in the open day, where they were given a tour of the recently refurbished building.
Headteacher Irene Connor said: "It went very well indeed. There were around 20 grandparents who turned up to the school and it was a good opportunity for them to see what the boys did on a day to day basis.
"Some of the grandparents had lunch with us and commented on our famous' meals and we have had a lot of positive feedback from the event.
"Of course the boys loved having them here and we feel it was all very worthwhile."
One grandparent, Howard Liddell, said: "From the moment we stepped inside the front door we were made to feel welcome.
"We were impressed by the relaxed atmosphere, the exemplary behaviour of the pupils and the facilities for both work and play."
