THE CARING and health conscious ethos of Pool-in-Wharfedale C of E Primary School has earned it an Advanced Healthy Schools award.
The award is in recognition of the school's dedication to incorporating exercise, good nutrition, environmental awareness and pupil to pupil support programmes into its curriculum.
Deputy head teacher Glenys Pengilley said: "The children have been doing lots of sports, looking at eating healthily and taking care of the environment, and caring for and looking after each other. We've now got the national and advanced healthy schools accreditation, which stands for four years, and the idea is to keep all these things as part of the curriculum."
