Kind souls at Pool send shoes to Africa

HUNDREDS of pairs of shoes from Pool-in-Wharfedale will soon be winging their way to Africa.

Pupils at Pool C of E Primary School collected more than 300 boxes of old shoes for Shoe Biz, the Blue Peter appeal to provide footwear for children in Malawi.

Head teacher Roger Bumby said: "Three of the younger children asked if they could do something for the Shoe Biz appeal so the pupils have been collecting shoes and they have done very well."
