Pupils at Benton Park have gained a nationally recognised sports award after completing a course which aims to help teenagers develop their leadership skills.
The Level 1 in Sports Leadership is a practical qualification which is aimed at young people over the age of 14, and is seen as a fantastic way of teaching parts of the Physical Education National Curriculum at Key Stage 4.
Pupils at the Rawdon school have completed the course and have also been involved in extra voluntary work. They have completed the Junior Football Organisers award, and have run and organised a number of events - including a football festival and a multi-skills festival - for local feeder schools.
They have also run a sports club at lunchtime at Yeadon Westfield Infants.
