Monty is a family affair for the Judges
Brad and Laura Judge
Brad and Laura Judge

When Stampede Theatre Company stage their forthcoming production of The Full Monty' at Yeadon Town Hall next month, amongst the cast will be mother and son, Laura and Bradley Judge.

Laura, who is set to play the role of Vicki Nichols, the wife of former mill supervisor Harold Nichols, is no stranger to the stage in this area, and has been seen on Yeadon Town Hall stage frequently over the past few years.

Laura says about her role: "Vicki is thought by Harold to be very high maintenance, which is probably a more accurate description of me than the character! This is an exciting project for all of us, and I'm loving working with such a talented group of people. I haven't seen any stripping yet, though, which is a bit disappointing!"

After training in musical theatre at Rose Bruford College (London), Laura has never really stopped performing on stage. The stage isn't Laura's only discipline, though, and she can be seen in the television series, The Royal Today', which recently started on ITV.

In addition, Laura also performs in murder mysteries, cabarets and teaches drama in local primary schools. As if all this isn't enough, Laura is also a mother of three, with Bradley being the middle child.

Bradley, 14, is a budding star in his own right, beating several other auditionees to the role of Nathan, the son of unemployed mill worker, Jerry Lukowski.

A pupil at Bingley Grammar School, he won the award for Most Promising Newcomer aged just 13. Outside school, Bradley is no stranger to the stage, having performed in pantomime at Bradford Alhambra with Billy Pearce as well as local theatrical productions in Keighley. Bradley's biggest achievement so far, however, is gaining a place with the prestigious Northern Ballet Theatre in Leeds, where he hopes he will develop the skills that could lead him towards The West End in the future.

Whilst is seems that Bradley has the world at his feet, it hasn't gone to his head, as Laura explains: "He's really grounded, he's not big-headed. He said there'll be lots of fit lasses there!"

This isn't the first time Laura and Bradley have appeared on stage together. In fact, they were last seen at Yeadon Town Hall in May 2007 in The Grove and Rawdon Theatre Company production of Carousel'.

The Full Monty' will be performed at Yeadon Town Hall from February 19-23 and tickets are on sale now from the Box Office on 0113 2029524, by e-mail at boxoffice@stampedetheatre.co.uk or by calling in at Dance Attitude, 2 High Street, Yeadon.
