| Guiseley Ladies captain Katie Matthews and Under-6s player Isabel Wilks. |
WOMEN'S and girls' football is booming and none more so than in Guiseley where the Guiseley Ladies team has made a rapid rise up the divisions flying the flag with pride.
After two successive promotions they have spent the last season in the North East Regional Women's Premier Division where they finished a very creditable fourth and after experience at this level are looking for a better finish next season.
Guiseley Juniors AFC, linked with the senior club, have launched a number of girls' teams and they are looking to expand on this.
They are busy recruiting to feed teams hoping to play in leagues next season.
The Ladies are hoping that the age groups will eventually bridge the gap from the new U-6s right through to the senior team but to fulfil this they need to recruit new players .
Girls interested in taking up the sport, rather than just watching their brothers, can now join in with teams of their own.
The club is hoping to expand all age groups as well as creating an U-16 team. The club currently have teams in the U-6 age group, U-12s and U-14s, as well as a successful ladies Open age team currently competing in the North East Premier League.
If you are interested in playing or finding out more information contact Jenny Taylor, Secretary of the Ladies Open age team, on 0798 9572236.
The club is also looking for enthusiastic managers to take charge of the U-14 and U-16 girls' teams for the 2008/09 season.

The current ladies' team is made up of a host of PE teachers, a firefighter and a police officer.
The girls are keen to spread the name of Guiseley AFC Ladies and are looking to youngsters to carry this on.

The ladies' team is to benefit from some of the proceeds from this event along with Aireborough Rugby Union Club.
The ladies and the girls' team enjoy coaching sessions on the Guiseley club's 3G all weather pitch in Nethermoor Park, Guiseley.
