  • Drayman hit by bag of flour dropped from a hoist

    125 years ago A serious accident befel a drayman in Horsforth, in front of a grocer's shop. He was placing a bag of flour ready for being hoisted into the room above when the rope broke and it fell upon his back, fracturing his spine. He was afterwards conveyed to the Leeds Infirmary. Little hopes are entertained for his recovery. read more
