Cottingham held its annual Christmas festival today, creating a magical and festive atmosphere for locals and visitors.

The festival took place in the village centre and the holiday spirit was truly brought out as Christmas lights and trees lined King Street and Hallgate, adorning the snowy roads with bright colours. Many shops were appropriately decorated as well, creating a mesmerising and beautiful display.

During the festival, stalls were set out by local small businesses to offer gifts, sweet treats, hot chocolate, and delicious warm food.

At the heart of the event, singers and performers all displayed tremendous talent on the stage and brought classics, carols, and cheer to the village. The music could be heard all around Cottingham and ignited the air with Christmas joy.

Festivities began at 10:30 am and did not cease until 4:30 pm. However, there was plenty to do all day with rides, ice skating and games which created the perfect day out for family and friends.

People who joined in on the festivities commented that ‘It was a great day’ and that they are ‘Even more excited for Christmas’.

It is events like these that bring the community together in a special way, uniting everyone for the holidays and creating a magical feeling for those all around. It was a chance for families to spend time together, for friends to reunite and for everyone to get ready for Christmas.

It is safe to say that the countdown for next year’s festival has officially begun and it could not be more exciting. Happy Christmas!
