RAWDON Quaker Meeting has linked up with Aireborough Historical Society to invite Chris Skidmore, author of Quakers and their Meeting Houses, to talk about his research as it relates to Rawdon Meeting House. Chris will talk about Rawdon Quakers and their Meeting House. Rawdon Meeting House was built in 1697 - 325 years ago. It is one of the earliest Quaker Meeting Houses in the country.
The Heritage Open Day event takes place on Wednesday, September 14th at 7.30pm at the Quaker Meeting House, Quakers Lane, Rawdon, LS19 6HU.
Clerk of Rawdon Meeting , Beryl Milner, said: “We are delighted that Chris Skidmore is coming to talk about our Meeting House and some of the many people who have been part of the life of the meeting over the last 325 years. Rawdon Quaker Meeting remains a thriving community."
There is no charge for attending the illustrated talk. There will be opportunities to ask questions and to share any knowledge you have about family connections with the Meeting House.
